Belgian chef Jan Mortier has invested his 40 years of varied culinary experience in the creation of Restaurant L'Orange in Carvoeiro. Cosy and attractive, this bright restaurant serves international and French cuisine with an imaginative menu that includes some enticing and unusual offerings. There is a delectable selection of starters and the main courses are equally mouth-watering, complemented by an excellent wine list containing Portuguese and international labels.
If you have a sweet tooth, you won't be disappointed, most desserts are homemade by Jan’s wife Karin, and her Apfelstrudel is a speciality not be missed.
The pleasantly decorated restaurant has an intimate and warm atmosphere, with service in the good hands of daughter Jessica, and part of the interior dining area extends into an adjoining conservatory area fronted by French windows with views to the flower-decked outside terrace, perfect for al fresco dining.
Located near the Solferias Aparthotel on the outskirts of the village, l’Orange is open daily for dinner, except Sundays.
Closed in December and January.
